May 21, 2025—Clarington Library, Museums & Archives (CLMA) is thrilled to once again host the award-winning event Drag Queen Storytime in partnership with Durham Region Libraries, the Durham Children’s Aid Society, Youth Pride Durham, and the Municipality of Clarington. The storytime will take place on Saturday, June 7, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Bowmanville Library.
May 13, 2025—Clarington Library, Museums & Archives (CLMA) is inviting the community to celebrate Orono Library’s official Heritage Designation. The unveiling of the Heritage Designation Plaque will take place at the Orono Library (127 Church Street, Orono) on Saturday, May 24 at 10am. Members of the CLMA Library Board, the Municipality of Clarington’s Heritage Committee, and Members of Council will be in attendance.
March 19, 2025—Clarington Library, Museums & Archives is proud to announce the release of "Golden Tales: Chronicles of Our Community," being celebrated on Saturday, March 22, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Sarah Jane Williams Heritage Centre in Bowmanville.

March 6, 2025—Due to a fire on King Street, programs in Bowmanville have been altered to reduce daytime traffic in the area. The Bowmanville Library and Sarah Jane Williams Heritage Centre remain open with regular operating hours. Please see our news post for more information.
January 27, 2025—Clarington Library, Museums & Archives (CLMA) is thrilled to expand its Community Pass initiative to include a brand-new partner, Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) in Toronto.
Part of its innovative Library of Things, Community Passes allow CLMA customers to borrow a family admission pass to a local attraction or activity. Other organizations partnering with CLMA in the program include the Canadian Automotive Museum, Central Lake Ontario Conservation Area (CLOCA), Municipality of Clarington, Ontario Parks, and Reptilia Whitby. Additional Library of Things expansions at CLMA have included eReaders, telescopes, energy meters, and snowshoes.
