Changing your Communication Preferences
Library Material Notifications
The Library, Museums & Archives automated notification systems is used to contact members about Library, Museums & Archives materials for the following reasons:
- Holds available for pick up
- Courtesy reminder 3 days before due date
- 2 days overdue notice
- 14 days overdue notice
- 21 days billed for lost item notice
- 31 days balance of account notice
- 45 days balance of account notice
- 65 days balance of account notice
- 90 days referral to Collection Retrieval Agency
Library, Museums & Archives Material Notification Options
The Library, Museums & Archives contacts members using one (1) of the following methods, depending on contact preferences:
- Automated phone system
- Phone calls are sent from the following phone number: 905-623-7322
- This is an automated message.
- Emails are sent from the following address: email@example.com
- This is a one-way email service. Any email replies will not be received by staff.
- SMS/text message
- Text messages are sent from the following phone number: 1-365-800-6683
- This is a one-way messaging service. Any text replies will not be received by staff.
By electing to receive email or text/SMS notifications, members consent to receiving electronic communications from Clarington Library, Museums & Archives in the form of automated notifications regarding holds and overdues.
It is understood that members may unsubscribe from these notifications at any time. By selecting text/SMS notifications, it is acknowledged that members are subject to any carrier’s text messaging rates.
Program Registration Notifications
The Library, Museums & Archives provides registration and payments for programs through Eventbrite. By providing your email address at the time of program registration, the member will receive an automated reminder several days and/or forty-eight (48) hours before the start of the program.
In some instances, members may be contacted regarding changes to a program (e.g. program cancellation).
Emails are sent from the following address: firstname.lastname@example.org.
If members would prefer not to receive this email reminder or not use your personal email when registering for a program, please use the Library, Museums & Archives address: email@example.com. A phone number is required for program registration.
The Library, Museums & Archives offers several eNewsletter services through Mailchimp. General eNewsletters are sent approximately once every two months, and specialized eNewsletters may be sent more frequently (e.g. weekly TD Summer Reading Club eNewsletters).
Emails are sent from the following address: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Members can sign up for the general eNewsletter on our Subscribe page or through the card registration process. The TD Summer Reading Club eNewsletter is available through the Club registration process.
Mailchimp uses a double opt-in process, meaning the member must subscribe to the eNewsletter, then confirm their subscription through a confirmation email.
By electing to receive the eNewsletter, members consent to receiving electronic communications from Clarington Library, Museums & Archives in the form of the Library eNewsletter.
Members may unsubscribe from receiving Library, Museums & Archives eNewsletters at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each eNewsletter, or by contacting Member Services at 905-623-7322 ext. 2712 or by emailing email@example.com.
