Forest of Reading

Clarington Library, Museums & Archives is taking part in the Forest of Reading, a recreational reading program from the Ontario Library Association!

The Forest of Reading program encourages children to read a range of books covering diverse topics, perspectives, and characters. The books are chosen by librarians, technicians, and educators from across the province. CLMA is participating in the following categories:

  • Blue Spruce (Grades JK-2 | Picture Books)
  • Silver Birch Express (Grades 3-4 | Fiction/Non-Fiction)
  • Silver Birch Fiction (Grades 5-6 | Fiction)
  • Red Maple (Grades 7-8 | Fiction)

To participate in this program, children should read as many of the titles as they can by the end of April in their relevant program, and then vote on their favourite. Readers will make their choice and crown the winners!

Search the catalogue and place holds by clicking each title below. More information on voting will be available in March/April!

We look forward to reading and learning together with you!
