Seasonal Cultural Celebrations

Celebrate and learn about Christmas, Kwanzaa, and Chanukah this holiday season with your family! All are welcome.

All programs are all ages and drop in with no advance registration required.

Christmas Storytime Celebration

Bowmanville Library | Saturday, December 6 | 10:30-11:30am

Explore the story of Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem, including the shepherds, angels, and wisemen. Stories, songs, and crafts will be part of this Christmas celebration for families. All are welcome.

Kwanzaa Storytime Celebration

Bowmanville Library | Saturday, December 13 | 10:30am-12pm

Together, we'll explore the origin, history and significance of Kwanzaa and how we can apply the Ngozo Saba, or The Seven Principles, in our everyday lives.  Families can enjoy storytelling with Kesha Christie of Talkin' Tales, crafts, prizes, and snacks.

Chanukah Storytime Celebration

Bowmanville Library | Thursday, December 18 | 6-7pm

Celebrate Chanukah and learn about Jewish culture with stories, songs, crafts, and traditional snacks.

Presented with the Chabad Jewish Centre of Durham Region.
